Throughout the film, I often wonder why, among such drama and mental turmoil, were these consider the "Anni Felici" for the director as the title suggested and I found it interesting that the main character ends the film with a sentence explaining exactly what confused me - "Unquestionably, these were happy years; too bad none of us realized it".
